  • King Of Swing wins on debut

    Fri 25 Sep 2015

Purchased from the DBS breeze-up sale in April, King Of Swing made an impressive winning debut at Haydock this afternoon.  Despite being slowly away and running green, the son of Dutch Art picked up nicely to win rather cosily and looks set for an exciting future for his very enthusiastic owners the Cool Silk Partnership. Congratulations to them and to trainer James Given.

  • Dazzling victory for Blue De Vega

    Wed 23 Sep 2015

Having been extremely unlucky on his debut at Dundalk when beaten just over a length despite being very slowly away having been in the stalls for over seven minutes, two year-old colt Blue De Vega made no mistake on his second start at Naas today.  Despite having to travel wide throughout from a wide draw, Blue De Vega was always travelling well within himself and powered clear to win by almost five lengths from 15 rivals.  Blue De Vega was purchased as a yearling for €32,000 by Stroud Coleman at the 2014 BBAG Yearling Sale in Baden-Baden, Germany from top German breeders Gestut Ammerland.  Trainer Michael O'Callaghan holds the son of Lope De Vega in the very highest regard and plenty more is expected in the future.

    Tue 08 Sep 2015

Purchased for 42,000gns at the Tattersalls Guineas Breeze-Up Sale in May from Tally Ho Stud, Baltic King two year-old Perkunas looks a promising colt with an exciting future for his owner Bernard Gover and trainer Brian Meehan.  Second to Godolphin's smart juvenile Emotionless on debut at Newmarket, Perkunas suffered trouble in running when fifth in the valuable Convivial Maiden at York, but made no mistake when running out a ready winner of his maiden at Brighton yesterday.  He should make up into a quality three year-old.

Normandie Stud’s classy homebred Galileo filly Gretchen just repelled the challenge of French raider Sahrawi, a homebred Pivotal filly of Ballymore Thoroughbreds, in a thrilling climax to Newmarket’s Listed Chalice Stakes. Both fillies are highly progressive and are a credit to their respective owner/breeders; both of whom are advised by Anthony Stroud.
