  • Global Citizen bounds to impressive Grade-2 Champion Hurdle Trial victory

    Sun 20 Jan 2019

Global Citizen won the second Grade-2 of his career in the Champion Hurdle Trial at Haydock on Saturday with a powerful performance under David Bass for trainer Ben Pauling and owners The Megson Family.  Having announced himself in top company with a scintillating success last season in the Grade-2 Dovecote Novices' Hurdle at Kempton, Global Citizen furthered his career this season with a gutsy display in the Gerry Fielden Hurdle at Newbury in November.  He bounced back from a below-par performance at Kempton in the Grade-1 Christmas Hurdle at Kempton on Boxing Day with an impressive performance at Haydock which sets up him perfectly for a crack at the Champion Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival in March,

  • Two Group-3 victories for back-to-form Young Rascal

    Sun 28 Oct 2018

Young Rascal, an Arqana purchase as a yearling, returned to form in notable style over the past month with a pair of Group-3 victories at Newbury.  The winner of the G3 Chester Vase Stakes at Chester in May, the son of Intello did show his best in the Epsom Derby afterwards.  Given a break by trainer William Haggas, Young Rascal returned to action with victory in the G3 Legacy Cup Stakes and then repeated the dose when carrying his penalty to a dead-heat success in this weekend's G3 St Simon Stakes.  Young Rascal should make up into a most exciting middle-distance colt in 2019 for owner Bernard Kantor.
