Normandie Stud’s classy homebred Galileo filly Gretchen just repelled the challenge of French raider Sahrawi, a homebred Pivotal filly of Ballymore Thoroughbreds, in a thrilling climax to Newmarket’s Listed Chalice Stakes. Both fillies are highly progressive and are a credit to their respective owner/breeders; both of whom are advised by Anthony Stroud.

Royal Bajan’s victory in the £40,000 5-furlong handicap at Chelmsford on Saturday capped a wonderful winter for The Cool Silk Partnership headed up by Peter Swann and Barbara Wilkinson who have been great supporters of trainer James Given and of Anthony Stroud Bloodstock. The Cool Silk Partnership have enjoyed 13 winners already in 2015 from just 56 runners, operating at a 23% strike rate, which has put them second behind Godolphin in the owner’s championship to date. Royal Bajan has won over £100,000 in prize money having been purchased at the DBS Breeze-Up Sale in 2010.
