Wildly impressive Oaks success for Thundering On

Capping an amazing few weeks for her owner/breeder Shapoor Mistry, his homebred Frankel filly, Thundering On, the only foal out of her Group-1 winning dam Thundering Nights, also a homebred of Shapoor’s, won The Oaks in magnificent style for trainer Joseph O’Brien and jockey Dylan Brown McMonagle. Gliding into the race from the rear of the field, Thundering On cleared away from her rivals to win the Epsom Classic with incredible ease.

Thundering On’s granddam, Cape Castle, was purchased in 2017 for just 32,000gns carrying Thundering Nights. Sadly Thundering On is the only filly alive from the immediate family and thus it is hoped that she can add other Group-1 victories to her record before retiring to stud as a broodmare for the Mistry family.
